These are all great action shots for an illustration. I would pick the one you think is best for movement and action. Personally, I think that would the the mid-left one. The more intensity behind his kick, the better.
I think that the second one on the left would work very well. It shows his skill and what he can physically do. It will be cool to see how you can add to this thumbnail and how you can make it even more realistic.
I feel that the middle-right thumbnail would look pretty neat as a finished image That intense moment before the big kick will bring a lot of emphasis and movement to your final product.
I think the second one on the left would work well for a full sketch. It would be an interesting take on the ball going into the air.
